The Power List is something that I have mentioned before briefly on other podcasts, but prior to today’s episode, had never covered it in detail. It’s a concept that I first heard about from Episode 107 of the MFCEO podcast with Andy Frisella.
The Power List is essentially a to-do list, but unlike the traditional to-do list, you have to write down exactly 5 priorities for each day, no more, no less. These priorities need to be things that will drive you closer to your long-term goals, not just urgent or miscellaneous tasks that need to get done.
I have become a huge fan of the Power List, because it forces me to do more prioritization and planning, and it allows me to measure whether I am successful each day. It also gives me peace of mind when I have had a productive day, to celebrate that, and not just keep working for the sake of staying busy.
